Yesterday, after years of hiking and searching, I stumbled on one of the petroglyphs that is not far from my house. It's said there is a pueblo and at least 5 known rock art sites in this area of the vast high desert wilderness. I had hiked up a steep hillside and was enjoying the breathtaking views when I decided to wander over to some shade for a bit...and there, under a stand of alligator junipers, were maybe a dozen carvings.
Wonder how long it will take me to find the others.

Caddisfly larvae build protective cases using materials found in their environment. Artist Hubert Duprat supplied them with gold leaf and precious stones. This is what they created.
Is this just the coolest thing or what.
